Sand Flat Trail

Sand Flat Trail

To get to the trailhead the “upper” and “lower” Sand Flat Road can be used. The same routes can be accessed as the Bunny Flat trailhead using the Sand Flat Road. It does not add or subtract any significant mileage or elevation from the start of your climb. The trailhead is not accessible when there is snow, but in May or June is typically open once winter ends.  The trail is usually used by hikers looking for a change and wanting a different route to hike on the south and west sides.
