Our classic races include:
– 2 Mile Youth Race –
This event is designed for younger runners under 18 years old. Ribbons are presented to the top three finishers in each division. All finishers receive medals.
– 2 Mile Fun Walk –
This is our most popular event. The walk provides fun and excitement for everyone in the family with entertainment along the route.
– 5 Mile Race –
Close to 1,000 runners compete over a fairly flat course with an uphill climb on the final mile. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each division. This is a USATF certified course (#CA19031RS).
The 4th of July Walk/Run event fulfills a role as a primary fundraiser within the community for a variety of youth and community groups, community enhancement projects, and the organization who hosts the event, SORA. Your entry in the event makes everything possible.
Mountain Runners reinvests all proceeds from the 4th of July Event into the community. We make significant contributions to community health & fitness projects and support numerous local youth sports activities, as well as continue our legacy of beautification & enhancement projects in downtown Mt. Shasta.
