]]> There is a volcanic dome called Haystack in the California, Shasta Valley. The valley is a lot less traveled as people just want to get to the high country and pass through. Many people who stop in the valley believe they are on private land due to all the cattle ranches but this is not fully accurate. The Haystack and Yellow Butte are an exception. They both offer amazing hiking with spectacular views. The top of the Haystack gets quite wet from the snow trickling down from Shasta Valley.
