A unique establishment; if it were a grocery store in the old days, we’d describe it as having everything from basic soup makings to gourmet nuts! This is a sometimes eclectic collection of previously owned merchandise from Antiques to possibly a Zebra Skin!

Davie Martin buys Estates, Store Closeouts, Storage units, drop offs and the occasional Yard Sale to keep the place well stocked. Picture grandma’s house x 10, that would be accurate. Displays change on a daily basis so that even locals visit weekly because they are afraid they will miss something and many times they do!

Inventory moves very quickly due to great prices and that also keeps the collector coming back. This store is on the route of many folks’ vacations and on the favorite list of many families that come from out of town to visit.

We supply the pots and pans for the camper that forgot something and the ‘oh my god, my grandmother had one of these’ moments and then the memories are stirred up. Occasionally we all end up in tears of joy!

Homeward Bounty Farm

Homeward Bounty Farm is located in Grenada, the agricultural valley nestled at the foot of Mt. Shasta. The small scale farm produces organic, open-pollinated crops and has become a fixture of the Mt. Shasta Farmer’s Market and venues that serve and sell local produce. Homeward Bounty Farm is owned and run by Kate O’Brien, and by her side is husband Jonathan Mann and their young daughter.

Kate has a deep relationship to agriculture and the Siskiyou County area, and in her own words feels, “It isn’t odd that I’ve found the perfect fit in small scale agriculture, growing food and saving seeds. It has been the culture of agriculture that has struck me deep. The relationship we have with what we eat, how we eat, who we share meals with and how those acts define our days and lives…An even more resonating chapter in my passion for food…is my recent move back to Siskiyou County and the honor of growing food and seeds for the community that raised me”.

Shasta Sun & Star

Shasta Sun and Star is a special home with lots of light and love. Built in the 1920s, it was originally a home for the Italian family who ran the small grocery store below. The original pine flooring has been preserved and the rounded arched doors give way to an era gone by. Lots of charm here.

It was lovingly restored back to its charming splendor with an additional bathroom added along with a deck which boasts magnificent views of Mt. Shasta. In the 1950s, this property was featured in Better Homes and Gardens for its beautiful landscaping and open yard, which is still in place.

Situated on Chestnut Street, you can walk downtown for shopping and restaurants, and of course the famous Mt. Shasta Supermarket is across the street with those infamous sandwiches you can order and take to the lake or hiking. They also have a deli, wine & beer and supermarket items. For larger groups, you can see if the adjoining property is available to rent – Mt. Shasta Clubhouse – which sleeps 6 people.
