Welcome Back to Siskiyou

On June 15, 2021, the state of California moved beyond the Blueprint for a Safer Economy and its color-coded activity tiers. This means that all industry and business sectors may return to normal operations with no capacity limits or physical distancing requirements, with limited exceptions for “mega” events. Read on to see what you can expect when visiting Siskiyou!

Face Coverings

Fully vaccinated people may forgo face coverings in nearly all scenarios, except for in medical settings or on public transportation, subject to state and local regulations. Unvaccinated people are still urged to wear masks.

Events

Most events in Siskiyou take place outdoors, and are not large enough to fall under the state guidelines for “mega” events. Most people will likely be unmasked at events in Siskiyou, but those who are unvaccinated or just feel more comfortable wearing a mask in event settings are encouraged to do so!

Outdoor Recreation

COVID-related wilderness area closures have been lifted. We still recommend checking the website for the areas you plan to visit, as some attractions remain understaffed and may have reduced hours of operation.

When recreating outdoors, remember to pack out all of your trash, bury your waste 6-8″ deep at least 200 feet from all water sources, and consider planning mid-week visits to reduce weekend crowding on our more popular trails. Restaurants

Fully vaccinated individuals may eat indoors without face coverings. You may experience longer than normal wait times as our local restaurants work to re-hire and train kitchen and serving staff following the pandemic layoffs – please be kind and have patience!
