Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley Takes On Siskiyou

Siskiyou is full of wild adventures and even Olympians are up for the challenge. Olympic gold medal skier Jonny Moseley made his way to Siskiyou this past spring to take on the whitewater of California’s north.

“They say San Francisco is northern California, but this is truly northern California,” said Moseley, in reference to Siskiyou.

Visit California recently launched a new series starring Moseley called “Jonny Moseley’s Wildest Dreams.” The series explores the state’s diverse outdoors through the eyes of one of California’s most decorated athletes.

During Moseley’s “Paddle!” episode, he heads to Forks of Salmon to the Otter Bar Lodge Kayak School and gets a crash course in kayaking from Professional Whitewater Kayaker Rush Sturges and Junior Freestyle Champion Sage Donnelly.

The episode begins with Moseley learning the Eskimo roll before taking on the Salmon River. The next day the group makes a trip to McCloud where Moseley faces the seal drop at McCloud Falls. You can watch the entire episode below.

Siskiyou is truly an adventure seeker’s dream destination. Are you ready to take on one of California’s best outdoor recreation spots? Moseley conquered Siskiyou, so can you! We look forward to welcoming you to California’s north.
