Punjabi Dhaba Indian cuisine is located inside the Yreka Truck Stop but don’t be put off by its non-traditional location. This hidden gem offers a variety of regional and traditional cuisines native to the Punjab region in northern India. They are a newer local favorite in Siskiyou and do mostly take-out with a few seats in and outside the rest stop. You can also enjoy a complimentary cup of warm Chai while you wait for your order to be freshly made. Locals rave about the Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Samosa Chaat and of course the hot Garlic Naan Bread. A must-stop at the truck stop!

A cozy eatery of authentic Thai and Lao fusion cuisine in downtown Weed, Thai Lao Cafe opened in July of 2022. Tommy the owner’s family was one of the first Lao/ Thai families to settle in the community of Weed. They bring generations of Thai and Lao family recipes to your plate with authentic spices, vegetables, sauces and chiles. Some of the fan favorite signature dishes on the menu are the classic Pad Thai, Beef Pho Noodle Soup and their fresh Beef or Chicken Laarb Salad. Taste of Caribbean is another new restaurant in the charming heart of downtown Dunsmuir offering Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine as well as a fresh fruit juice and smoothie bar. They specialize in jerking which is a style of cooking in which the main ingredient is coated in spices and slow cooked over an open wood fire. Taste of Caribbean’s menu ranges from succulent smoky jerked meat dishes accompanied by traditional Jamaican sides of rice and beans, callaloo, cabbage, mac salad and more. They make their own meat patties, Gumbo, homemade fudge, Acai bowls, and an assortment of sweet treats. If you are passing through Dunsmuir, it’s a comfortable atmosphere and a unique treat for your taste buds!

MaiYaj Asian Bistro has been described as a wonderful delight in the middle of Montague. This newer-to-Siskiyou restaurant offers authentic Southeast Asian comfort food. Specializing in Hmong, Thai, Lao and Vietnamese cuisines, they are known for their creative specials and use only the freshest ingredients. Owner and Chef Pom and wife MaiYang came to Siskiyou from NYC. Pom’s appearance on Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay is only part of his impressive resume’. They pride themselves on serving dishes authentic to their families’ Asian cultures but also like to mix things up with fun themed specials like their Asian Cajun Seafood Boil which has been known to sell out! This creative, fresh and flavorful restaurant is making a name for themselves as a top dining spot in Siskiyou.
