Pastures of Grace U-Pick Dahlias
Venture out to Gazelle and pick your own Dahlias at Pastures of Grace, a family farm and non-profit that serves struggling young women through training, guidance, and support. They also sell their pasture raised pork and beef at the farm. The U-pick events go through September 28th and are on Tuesdays and Fridays from 5:30-8:30PM, and on Saturdays 9:00am – noon. Make sure to bring a camera to capture the stunning views of Mt Shasta!
Siskiyou’s Farmer’s Markets
The rich soil and moderate growing climate in Siskiyou make this region fertile ground for growing an abundance of produce. Farmer’s market season is in full swing as we approach the end of summer and the fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers are in bountiful supply. Visiting one of our six farmer’s markets around the county is a great way to stock up on healthy fresh food, local artisan crafts, and handmade goods. The Yreka Certified Farmers Market is newly located in Yreka’s historic downtown district, Miner Street, which is home to unique shops and restaurants.
Montague Balloon Fair
This three-day extravaganza kicks off September 20-22nd, in Montague with a Drive Thru Movie and dinner fundraiser for the Montague Pool. Day two begins with a parade down Main Street Montague, and each day will include the launch of over 15 hot air balloons into the skies above the Shasta Valley. Montague has been the home to a hot air balloon event for over 25 years, and this is a packed weekend of family fun that you won’t want to miss!
Siskiyou Beef ‘N’ Brew
Toss on your cowboy boots and Stetson and grab tickets to this year’s second annual Beef ‘N’ Brew event which will happen on September 28th in downtown Yreka! Once again, the Siskiyou County Cattlewomen have planned an evening of mouthwatering beef appetizers, refreshing craft brews, and live country music from Chad Bushnell. This 21+ evening is sure to be a taste sensation and darn good time!
Hunter Orchards Pumpkin Patch
What fall day in Siskiyou is complete without a pumpkin spice latte? Oh, and a visit to northernmost California’s original U-Pick pumpkin patch at Hunter Orchards, at 14431 Old Westside Rd, in Grenada. This farm has acres and acres of pumpkins to choose from in all sizes and shapes. Lots of varieties of winter squash, a hay maze for the kids, apples, pears, fresh cider, jam, and fall holiday decorations for sale. Open daily in the month of October, 10 am to 6 pm.
McCloud Apple Harvest Festival
For the 10th year running in October, the picturesque town of McCloud comes alive with the vibrant celebration of the Apple Harvest Festival. Food enthusiasts will be in spice paradise with the abundance of caramel apples, apple cider donuts, apple pie contests, pumpkins, fresh pressed apple juice and other fall treats! There will be live music and a vendor street fair where you can pick up some handmade and homemade items to take with you. This is a favorite annual event that showcases the region’s culinary specialties and celebrates the season of the autumn apple harvest.
