Siskiyou is an outdoor haven – so it follows that there are some perfect places to enjoy outdoor dining! Plus it makes it much easier to socially distance. So, what better way to elevate your Siskiyou experience than pulling up a patio seat to nosh and revel in a gorgeous view? Here are just a few of our favorite spots to safely dine outside.
Food with a View
A good glimpse of Mount Shasta is something we all crave, and the outdoor dining view at the Highland House Restaurant at the Mount Shasta Resort delivers – with the added spice of stunning fall color in season! For a sweet view of Mount Shasta’s north face, head to the Sunset Bar & Grill at the Lake Shastina Golf Resort.
Alfresco Brews
Who doesn’t like a good beer garden? Look no further than the newest tap house in Siskiyou, The Garden Tap at the Native Grounds Nursery – literally a beer garden that’s been set up in a plant nursery. For more traditional outdoor seating and locally crafted brews, try the Etna Brewing Company or Dunsmuir Brewery Works.
A Quick Dose of Sunshine & Street Tacos
Short on time but still want to eat outdoors? Check out Poncho & Lefkowitz where you’ll find killer, quick food and a nice patio space in the heart of Mount Shasta. Or, track down Tacos Tao, a new food truck on the scene in Yreka with it’s own traveling seating area. A delicious and casual way to enjoy outdoor dining!
Bring On the Patio
Patio dining can’t be beat, and in Siskiyou there are lots of hotspots to choose from. But some of the standouts belong to Pipeline Craft Taps & Kitchen in downtown Mt. Shasta, with brand new and spacious outdoor seating. Or, try the large backyard patio at Strings on historic Miner Street in Yreka or the new 4-season patio seating at Denny Bar Company in Etna. For a delightful patio to enjoy breakfast or lunch, look no further than Clearwater Coffee & Kitchen in McCloud.
Family-Friendly Faves
Not only does alfresco dining enhance the enjoyment of food, outside space can be ideal for kids to move around – making it the ultimate in restaurant dining when it comes to parents of young kids. So for delicious food and family-friendly outdoor space (complete with lawn games!), head straight for Five Marys, a pasture to plate restaurant and bar in Fort Jones that focuses on meat from their own family ranch located five miles down the road. Dotty’s in nearby Etna is also a wonderful place to grab a bite or soft-serve and watch the kids run. Or, for family-friendly lakeside dining, head out to the Lake Sis Grille & Brew at the summer favorite Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort.
