Siskiyou Historic Tours: Fort Jones Cemetery Tour

Join fellow history buffs on October 12th and explore the public section of the Fort Jones Cemetery, right down the road from the location of the original fort. Some graves date back to the early pioneers and beaver trappers that settled in Scott Valley in the 1830s. The Forty-Niners followed them to this area in search of gold in the 1850s (1). Today, Scott Valley is an epic scenic area and community of locals and ranchers, some that can date their family ties to the area for generations. Feel the autumn leaves crunch underfoot as you learn some local history and maybe a ghost story or two! Check the events calendar for other historic and haunted tours this month.
