Sip and Savor Siskiyou’s Favorite Wine Experiences

Siskiyou offers some truly special experiences for both the wine novice and enthusiast. The landscape and climate offer unique conditions that make it an exciting area for wine production, with four distinct seasons and soil features that support the cultivation of many grape varieties. While local production is currently limited to few boutique wineries, some spectacular wine bars and tasting rooms have been popping up around Siskiyou over recent years and we can’t keep the secret to ourselves! Here are our current favorite spots to sit and enjoy some delicious nibbles, friendly conversation, and some of the finest wines around.

The Wine Bar & Bistro in Yreka

A cozy and casual space close to downtown Yreka that features an extensive wine selection with bottle, glass, and flight options, craft beers, and numerous interesting and yummy small plates. The Wine Bar hosts specials like Wednesday ladies’ nights, local music regularly on weekends, and other fun events like wreath making or paint and sip experiences. The Wine Bar is a great place to visit with friends or take a date for a romantic evening on the town.

The Clandestino in Mt Shasta

Clandestino, meaning secret or hidden is a true gem that must be shared! A Spanish wine tasting and tapas bar in downtown Mt Shasta where every sip and bite is an exploration of Spanish flavors. This cozy and inviting space has a variety of seating options from private comfy lounge chairs, to tasting and learning at the action-filled bar top. The Clandestino offers an exquisite list of Spanish wines and delectable authentic tapas, the perfect pairing! An elegant and friendly atmosphere, ideal for those who appreciate wine, art, and a bit of decadence.

Cobra Lily Bar & Bottle in Dunsmuir

A chill and relaxing atmosphere with tasty regional wines and divine snacks that perfectly pair with every sip. Cobra Lily has been described as a “lovely combination of quiet and friendly” which is spot-on for the quaint South Siskiyou town of Dunsmuir where it is charmingly tucked in on a side street. A favorite feature is the savory snack boxes packed with seasonal bites, perfect for noshing with a glass of vino, and thoughtfully prepared by nearby Bee Kind Catering.

A classy new addition to Mt Shasta in the Fall of 2024, Baldovino’s serves a curated wine list alongside an eclectic mix of dishes with a focus on seasonal flavors. The quality of ingredients and thoughtful presentation are top notch, and locals are buzzing about this elegant new hot spot right in downtown Mt Shasta.
